Dia duit agus fáilte! Hello and welcome to Week 2 of Irish 102. We hope you enjoyed Week 1 and are really excited that you are continuing this journey with us.

This week you will learn about:

• The calendar and important festivals in Ireland, including St Patrick’s Day
• The Irish terms for the days and months
• How to talk about your birthday
• The Zodiac and star signs as useful illustrators of differences in vocabulary
• Some principles of sentence construction when using ‘Is’ (the copula)
• Regular verbs in the present tense
• The famous warriors Na Fianna and their fabled leader Fionn Mac Cumhaill
• How to say what you do and do not like

Throughout this week you will engage in a mixture of activities, from quizzes and articles, to telling us a bit about yourself and learning about Irish culture and language. We encourage you to keep posting questions if there is anything you are finding difficult as our friendly robots Oscar and Niamh will be on hand to answer common ones at the end of the week.
