This week has been a busy one and we hope you have enjoyed it!

Firstly, we reviewed how to introduce yourself, how to ask where someone is from and tell where you come from, as well as a short reflection on greetings as you begin with us on this journey. We then discussed Gaelic script and saw some of the historical publications associated with the Gaelic revival, such as An Claidheamh Soluis. We also discussed the very concept of language revival and its potential value. Following this, we learned more about the distinction between the two forms of ‘to be’ in Irish, as well as that perennial Irish obsession of talking about the weather! With this in mind, you should now be able to:

  • Introduce yourself
  • Tell others where you come from and ask them where they come from
  • Give basic information about the Gaelic revival and language revival issues
  • Understand how to read the Gaelic script
  • Note the distinction between  and Is in sentence construction
  • Describe the weather where you are and ask others about their experiences

As you reflect on this week, we encourage you also to consider the questions below:

  • What did you enjoy this week?
  • What did you find hard?
  • What surprised you?
  • Have you any suggestions about how we can improve your experience?

Make sure to let us know in the comment section below!
